BioSPRINT project held its 4th General Assembly

On the 24th and 25th of November, the 4th General Assembly of the BioSPRINT project took place in a virtual format. The meeting was organised and hosted by the project coordinator, Dr. Andreas Scharf representing DECHEMA. Representatives from the 13 partners from 8 European countries attended the event. Dr. Charalambos Klitis, R&D Project Manager, and Christos Skoufis, Senior R&D Project Manager, represented eBOS.

During the two-day meeting, the partners had the opportunity to revisit and discuss the latest progress achieved by the project, over the past six months. The discussion initially focused on the four technical work packages (WP) and the next steps moving forward. The need to collaboratively integrate and validate the results and findings of the technical work performed was emphasized. Partners shared knowledge, methodologies, lessons learned, etc. The discussion concluded with an overview of the ongoing assessment of the techno-economic feasibility and sustainability of the project’s intensified biorefining concept.

For the final part of the meeting, the partners discussed the ongoing dissemination, training, and capacity-building activities of the project. They reviewed the initial insights gained from the organisation of the first webinar of the project in view of improving even more the next three webinars of the series.

eBOS, as the Quality assurance and Risk manager of the project, updated the consortium about risks and reminded the partners about the project’s quality assurance process. The team also contributed to the technical discussion, highlighting the benefits of leveraging machine learning models for the optimisation of catalytic processes.
