DataBri-X ‘Data Process & Technological Bricks for Expanding Digital Value Creation in European Data Spaces’ has its First Technical Workshop in Vienna

On the 30th and 31st of January 2023, Mr. Sozos Karageorgiou (Technical R&D Project Manager) travelled to Vienna, Austria, to participate in the highly anticipated “DataBri-X process and tools development” Workshop. The Workshop took place at the Semantic Web Company (SWC) premises and was hosted by the Work Package 3 (WP3) Leader Mr. Martin Kaltenböck, representing SWC, and the Technical Manager Dr. Javad Chamanara, representing Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB).

The goal of DataBri-X is to equip European Data Spaces, platforms, and marketplaces, along with their diverse stakeholders including businesses, government agencies, research institutions, and civil society organizations, with a comprehensive and adaptable data governance process and a ToolBox for seamless data and metadata management. The aim is to prepare data sets for optimal digital value creation within the European Data Spaces ecosystem.

The objective of WP3, “DataBri-X process and tools development,” is to assess the tools and resources that the participating partners bring to the project and their potential contributions to the project’s use cases. During the 2-day Workshop in Vienna, the partners of DataBri-X presented over 25 tools collected from 11 consortium partners including eBOS, IMDEA, ARC, SWC, OST, GT, LST, SIE, DFKI, TIB, and NIC. The consortium then discussed the tools required for each use case and their technical specifications, and demonstrated the tools and shared their development plans based on a gap analysis. The partners also discussed scenarios such as how IDSA and NIC plan to integrate the DataBri-X ToolBox into the International Data Spaces (IDS)/GAIA-X ecosystems.

eBOS, a software development company with over 20 years of expertise, holds a crucial technical role in DataBri-X, focusing on the design and development of a state-of-the-art data visualization tool, which will provide users with a dynamic and interactive way to comprehend complex data sets, ultimately promoting better decision-making and fostering innovation. With this goal in mind, eBOS plans to integrate the outcomes from the DataBri-X project into their WiseBOS Platform, a cutting-edge Regulatory & Financial Technology Platform. The integration will improve the functionality of the platform’s dashboards, streamline the development, testing, and deployment of new, innovative applications and solutions.
