eBOS Highlights Progress at 6G-MUSICAL Month 6 General Assembly

eBOS, a key partner in the innovative 6G-MUSICAL project, was represented by the R&D Project Manager Gianna Avgousti at the physical Month 6 General Assembly, which took place in Berlin on June 11 and 12, 2024.

During this two-day event, all Lead partners presented their progress in the first six months of the project, showcasing tangible advancements. These advancements set the course for the future, marking a significant milestone in reshaping Radio Frequency (RF) communications. The physical meeting allowed participants to delve into the progress of the different work packages. Each presentation was a testament to the collective dedication and ingenuity driving 6G-MUSICAL forward, from exploring new system architectures to refining energy-efficient signals.

One of the main highlights of the meeting was the exploration of spectrally and energy-efficient system architectures that lay the foundation for improved communication capabilities across multiple frequency bands. In addition, the integration of precise sensing and localisation elements promises new opportunities for edge infrastructure nodes within the 6G ecosystem.

6G-MUSICAL is a collaborative project between leading innovators in the field. It aims to merge radio sensing and communication technologies to create new paradigms in RF communication. At its core, the project aims to equip edge infrastructure nodes of 6G with integrated RF/radar-based radio-sensing elements that work seamlessly with communication components.

In the 6G-MUSICAL project, eBOS leads Work Package 7, which focuses on Dissemination, Communication, Exploitation, Standardization, IPR and Clustering Activities. eBOS leads the efforts to disseminate project results, effectively communicate progress, identify pathways to exploitation, and contribute to standardisation efforts in the field. Through strategic leadership and collaboration, eBOS ensures that the project’s impact extends beyond its immediate scope, driving innovation and shaping industry standards for the future of RF communications.

eBOS is also a 5G/6G testbed provider for a critical use case in the 6G-MUSICAL project. This use case will test the communication between the eBOS Base Station (facilities) and a mobile user (end terminal, vehicle, or drone) using a designed phased array antenna.

eBOS also leads the task of developing a Machine Learning (ML) algorithm to analyse the data collected by the radio sensor component and generate feedback signals for the communication and radio sensor components.

As a partner of the 6G-MUSICAL project, eBOS remains committed to driving innovation and pushing the boundaries of RF communication technology. The insights gained at the Month 6 General Assembly will encourage future advances.
