eBOS supports the 5G PPP initiative to open innovation opportunities for the European Telco Industry

eBOS takes an active role in and supports the 5G Public-Private Partnership (5G-PPP) initiative to reinforce the European Telco industry, open innovation opportunities and enable it to successfully compete on global markets.

5G-PPP is a joint initiative between the European Commission and European ICT industry (ICT manufacturers, telecommunications operators, service providers, SMEs and research institutions). It aims at securing Europe’s leadership in areas such as Smart cities, e-Health, Intelligent Transport, Education or Entertainment & Media.

In May, eBOS will participate in the 5G-PPP Communications Working Group meeting. Our R&D Project Managers, Mrs. Maria Anastasi and Mr. Vassilis Machamint, will represent the 5G-ERA and VITAL-5G Horizon 2020 R&D projects. Other R&D projects in which eBOS participates, namely, 5G-SOLUTIONS5G-ROUTES5G EPICENTRE5GMEdiaHUBMARSAL and MonB5G will be represented by their respective Dissemination and Communication (D&C) managers.

The knowledge pool discussions will focus on the D&C activities of these EU R&D projects with the aim to find creative and engaging solutions, leveraging social media especially, to challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic situation. The discussions, their conclusions and the lessons learned, will assist eBOS Managers in successfully engaging with the target audiences of these projects.

This is very important for eBOS as the 5G PPP strives to deliver solutions, architectures, technologies, and standards for the ubiquitous next generation communication infrastructures of the coming decade. It will “open a platform that helps us reach our common goal to maintain and strengthen the global technological lead”.
