New H2020 ICT-41 5G project 5G-EPICENTRE kicks off!

On the 2nd and 5th of February 2021, a new 5G Research & Innovation project 5G-EPICENTRE: 5G ExPerimentation Infrastructure hosting Cloud-nativE Netapps for public protection and disaster RElief held a successful online kick-off meeting with the participation of 17 partners and the coordination of AIRBUS Defence Space SLC by Mr. Jean-Michel Duquerrois.   5G-EPICENTRE is part of 5G PPP Phase 3b projects and will last for 3 years. It aims to lower barriers to 5G adoption and market entry for European SMEs to conduct rigorous experimentation of their products and applications aimed at the public safety market, through the provision of an open, federated, end-to-end experimentation facility and related NetApps.

Ms. Maria-Andrea R. Anastasi and Mr. Christos Skoufis, R&D Project Managers, represented eBOS at the online kick-off-meeting. During the meeting all the partners introduced their organisations and the discussion was mainly focused on the role of each partner in the project and the work that needs to be performed under each Work Package, especially during the first 8 months of the project.  eBOS’ role in the project is multi-fold, starting with leading the implementation of the northbound API by leveraging expertise in dashboard development, APIs and systems integration. Additionally, eBOS will lead the design and implementation of the project’s dissemination strategy and communication plan during the first 8 months of the project. Finally, eBOS is the project’s Ethics Manager and will be responsible for leading the project’s ethical and legal framework including the ethics requirements throughout the project’s entire life cycle. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No 101016521.
